The Story of Jessy - Told by Jan Rybak
Jan Rybak, the heart and soul of the “Barbra and Me” Foundation, shared with us the extraordinary story of Jessy, a lone female dog he encountered wandering through the French fields. Day after day, for half a year, Jan traveled 30 km to feed Jessy, building a bond that would soon save her life.
One winter day, when Jessy fell onto thin ice and into an ice hole, Jan, without hesitation, dived in to rescue her. The fight for life in the icy water had a happy ending, and a subsequent visit to the vet revealed how much Jessy had endured – she was found to have over 1600 ticks.
Today, Jessy lives happily, sleeping in a warm bed next to Jan, who has become her whole world. This is a story of perseverance, hope, and unwavering faith in the goodness that resides in each of us – about the strength that makes the “Barbra and Me” Foundation continually strive to help those who most need our love and care.
